Extends ADT Pulse to Android Devices
INTERNATIONAL CES 2012, LAS VEGAS, January 9, 2012 – ADT Security Services will preview the latest additions to the company’s interactive smart home solution, ADT Pulse, at this week’s International CES 2012. ADT Security is also making the solution available to Android users with the ADT Pulse BETA Android smart phone application, now available in the Android Marketplace.
ADT Pulse marries the best in ADT’s life safety and monitoring services with lifestyle management capabilities. This home monitoring and control solution helps provide the 24x7 intrusion, fire and carbon monoxide monitoring that consumers have come to expect from ADT. In addition, with ADT Pulse, people can use any compatible smart phone or web-enabled laptop to remotely and securely access and control, not only their home security system, but an expanded list of home-based lifestyle functions, including video of events, lighting, climate control, appliances, and much more.
The real-time nature of ADT Pulse has wide appeal to today’s mobile consumer. In less than one year, Pulse has made up almost a quarter of ADT’s new residential sales. This week, ADT is previewing the newest ADT Pulse functionalities available in the first quarter of 2012. New additions include an indoor low-light wireless camera, a wireless touch screen that can be used anywhere in the home, an outdoor wireless IR camera, and a WiFi repeater.
ADT Pulse mobile services, including solutions for BlackBerry and an application for the iPhone and iPad, now include a new beta version of the Android App. These mobile services allow users to remotely arm and disarm security services and control lights, thermostats, and appliances. Users can customize the application to send pictures or videos from a home or business. They can also receive text and email alerts if certain conditions arise, helping them to more proactively protect what matters most to them. ADT Pulse BETA for Android is currently available free of charge for Android phones running version 2.1 and up.
